ABOUT IRC ROLEPLAYING

What is Roleplaying? There are many different forms of Roleplaying. We are a form of IRC (Internet Relay Chat Roleplaying) which means that we take on roles and character names and act out these characters via chat.

What kind of IRC Roleplaying? Our channel is a horror channel. The storylines played out involve vampires, shapeshifters, witches, werewolves, mages and even fae. Anything of the supernatural is incorporated into play and limited only by a player's imagination.

What timezone are the roleplaying hours? Because we have a diverse range of players from all over the world (American, Bristish, Canadian and Australian but to name a few) we have a variety of playing times that vary. There is no appointed roleplaying time. Just show up and whoever else is there will determine who your chars involve themselves in. Most players organise playing times amongst themselves : )

Is this a WOD channel? While some players (especially those with vampire characters) will use VTM (Vampire the Masquerade) and WOD (World of Darkness), this channel is a Free Form Roleplaying Channel (FFRP). We do not comply strictly with WOD because there are players amongst us who have created characters that do not follow WOD rules. However, if you are creating characters such as Kindred ( vampire), Mage, Werewolves, Shapeshifters, Fae/Changeling and Demons, we will need you to be familiar and play in WOD. We require this because in the event of a fight or conflicting use of abilities, it is easier to judge the outcome.

What do you recommend before I play? It is recommended that you do some research on WOD so you are familiar with the terminology. And roleplaying experience of any kind is extremely useful ( IRC, Muds, Lans etc. Note, rules change from one roleplaying type to another so be prepared to adapt).

If this is Free Form, why can't I bring in whatever type of char I want? We can't allow this to happen as it becomes extremely disruptive for Story Lines and let's face it, what we're really here for is Quality Roleplaying. It's not about how strong or how weird or amazing your character is, it's how believable you can make your character. So if you're coming in to play a char who can throw fireballs but haven't given one thought as to what kind of personality, purpose, sense of direction or background your char has, you're going to have a lot of homework to catch up on because all these things will come up in play. And good play will be rewarded.

How do I get involved? To become involved, you will need to download Mirc This is a program for IRC chatting but there are roleplaying servers.  Once you have downloaded Mirc, you will need to connect to:

Server: irc.sorcery.net

Chatroom: #harsh`reality (our Out of Character chatroom) or #Club`Vampire (our In Character chatroom)

Once in the channel, visit one of our friendly ops. (The guys with the @ symbol infront of their nicks, hehe). If you are in need of further assistance, you can contact:
